Why should we hire you?
Having me there will take the pressure off your laboring partner. They will not have to capture the first moments, they don’t have to worry about messing with a camera during this special time, they can actually be present in the moment with you. This day will be a day that you will look back on for years to come, like a wedding, and I assure you that having me there will be something you’ll treasure forever. If you are uncomfortable with having a stranger in the room, I can tell you that I am quiet, discreet and there to do a job, I look through my camera with a photographers eye. I’m there to make the moments beautiful, not to stare or judge or interrupt your labor & delivery. I would be honored to share it with you.
When should I book?
I only book about 6 births per year due to other commitments with my family, travel and other photography jobs. I love births, but they require a lot of time and work. If you want me there, contact me as soon as possible!
How does this work?
I am on call for you starting at 38 weeks through 42 weeks and we stay in contact throughout your pregnancy. As your due date nears, I just ask you to update me after your doctor/midwife appointments. When you go into labor, please contact me so I can get everything together and ready to go. I will arrive at your birth location (hospital, birth center, home) when you reach 5-6cm dilated and I will stay 2ish hours after birth. I love these moments almost more than the actual birth-baby's first time breastfeeding, getting all the stats and baby's first snuggles with dad.
What if I have a C-section?
Check with your doctor. Many hospitals only allow one additional person in the room, but if that’s the case, I will wait until you leave the operating room and resume my photographer role.
Can we meet?
Absolutely! In fact, I recommend it. I want you and your birth partner to be super comfortable with me during this special time in your lives.
When do I get to see the photos?
You will receive a link to a private password protected online gallery within 14 business days. From there you can share with friends and family and download at your convenience.
